Country music star Keith Urban has broken his silence following his divorce from actress Nicole Kidman, sharing a brief birthday message to his ex-wife on social media. On June 20, Urban posted a colourful image with the words: 'Happy birthday Nicole Mary.' The couple, who have two daughters together, announced their separation in September 2025 and finalised their divorce in January 2026.
Kidman has made a few public comments about the split. In March, she told The Age Australia: 'I'm good. I'm holding steady. That's a good place to be able to say.' Speaking to Variety, she described 2025 as a difficult year, saying: 'I was quiet. I had other things going on. I was in my shell.' She added that her family remains her number one priority.
The divorce agreement includes a clause preventing either party from speaking negatively about the other. It states: 'They will not speak badly of each other or the members of the family of the other parent. They will encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families.' Neither party is paying spousal or child support, and decisions regarding their daughters will be made jointly.
Both Kidman and Urban are based in Nashville, though they travel frequently for work. Kidman told Variety in 2025: 'We have our life here. I'm part of the city and community for 20 years. It's my home.' Their daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, are increasingly in the public eye, with Sunday pursuing a modelling career and Faith appearing on red carpets with her mother and sister.
