Katie Dadzie, the wife of TV presenter Nick Knowles, has bravely spoken out about the horrific sexual abuse she endured as a child. In an emotional Instagram video, the 35-year-old revealed that she was raped by her father for 'years' until his death when she was 18.
Katie, who married Knowles last year, said she had never spoken publicly about the abuse before, though she had confided in friends and family. She explained that therapy has helped her reach a balanced state, but acknowledged that the trauma still surfaces at times.
In the video, Katie highlighted the prevalence of sexual abuse and domestic violence perpetrated by men, noting that in her case, the abuser was her father. She also shared her fear of walking alone from the gym, gripping her keys tightly, and expressed frustration that women still have to worry about their safety.
Fans flooded the comments with messages of support, thanking Katie for raising awareness. The couple, who have a 27-year age gap, tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Braxted Park in Essex last year after getting engaged in New Orleans in 2022.
