Nick Knowles has given a 'step forward' update on his wife Katie's health after major surgery. The couple enjoyed Sunday lunch by the river in Windsor, which the DIY SOS presenter described as a positive sign in her recovery.
Lunch Out as a 'Good Step Forward'
Sharing a selfie with Katie, Nick said: 'Out for Sunday lunch down by the river @theboatmanwindsor which is a good step forward and I’d like to say thank you to everyone who has sent encouraging messages to @katieaknowles through her recovery.'
He added: 'She’s a little better each day - three weeks into a careful first six weeks and she’s been helped along by all your lovely messages.'
Katie's Health Journey
Katie, 35, a lingerie entrepreneur, was rushed to hospital after her cervix ruptured following a hysterectomy, just weeks after their wedding on June 7 last year at Braxted Park, Essex. She recently underwent another major surgery and has been open about her experience with endometriosis and adenomyosis.
Earlier this month, she told followers: 'My body feels completely battered. My stomach is swollen and sore. I have more scars. More bleeding. More stitches. More pain to breathe through. More of that horrible trapped gas pain that makes you feel like your ribs and shoulders might actually snap. And mentally, I feel just as exhausted as I do physically.'
Nick's Support and TV Break
Nick announced he would take a break from television to care for his wife. Speaking ahead of her operation, he said: 'I’ve been looking after my wife a lot because she has been through it. She’s had a lot of tough times. She's got another operation coming up. I will disappear for a while because I'll be looking after her. I'm always worried [about her], but she's a warrior and a fighter, so I know she'll be fine.'
