Newcastle Pride 2024 is set to take place this weekend, with a march, Pride Arena in Times Square, and events across the city. Curious Arts is now in charge, carrying the theme 'city of hope, streets of joy.'
Friday Events
The Pride weekend kicks off with a 5k run in Leazes Park on Friday evening, started by Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes. She will also be one of the speakers at the Saturday march, which ends with a rally at Grey's Monument.
Saturday March and Arena
After the march, activities include the Tyger Comms stage and Market Village at Monument, the Trans+ Zone at Northern Stage, and the Pride Arena in Times Square, featuring acts like Nadine Coyle, Katy B, and Danny Beard.
Bar and Club Events
Various LGBTQIA+ bars are hosting events all weekend. The Bank offers free entry with Anna Morphic on Friday, Mea T.Cleaver and Pebble Dash on Saturday, and DJ Drama on Sunday. Boulevard has shows on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with free standing entry for Pink Pass or Pride Arena ticket holders. The Eagle features The DE Experience and NRG Pride in Rubber on Friday, DILF Newcastle Pride on Saturday, and Kink Disco on Sunday. Pink Room is open all weekend with acts including Laila Sagittaria and Rita Moff. Powerhouse hosts The Cheeky Girls live at 2am on Saturday, with DJs until 5am. Rusty's has a Queer Garden on Saturday with Betty Thunderthighs, and DJs all weekend. Rusty's Showbar includes The Cheeky Girls on Friday, Legends tributes on Saturday, and Alfie Ordinary on Sunday. Scotswood Show Bar offers free entry Friday to Sunday with DJs and a Silent Disco on Friday, and ticketed Stadium acts including Catrin Feelings and Katie Price. The Singing Canary has free entry all weekend with DJ Levi Heron on Saturday. Switch offers free entry from 8pm Friday and 4pm Saturday. The Tipsy Cow has free entry all weekend with DJ Danny, Vicky Paris, and cabaret acts. The Yard & Oscars offer free entry all weekend, with Oscars' Pride extravaganza on Sunday hosted by DElonco.
