Cineworld Speke to Open Liverpool's First 4DX Screen

Cineworld at New Mersey Retail Park in Speke, Liverpool, is set to introduce the city's first 4DX screen on December 19. The venue, which opened in August 2018 with 11 screens, will now offer the immersive cinema format that combines motion-synchronised seats with environmental effects.

The 4DX experience includes wind, water, scent, fog, bubbles and strobe effects, all precisely programmed to match the action on screen. It has gained popularity at other Cineworld locations, often featured on TikTok for its extreme full-body experiences.

Adam O'Hara, General Manager at Cineworld Liverpool Speke, said: 'Bringing Liverpool its first 4DX screen is a big moment for the city, and for us. This cutting-edge cinema technology adds a physical dimension to the screen, combining motion and sensory effects to deliver the most extraordinary experience. We’re excited to bring that level of innovation to the people of Speke.'

The new screen is timed for the release of Avatar: Fire and Ash, allowing audiences to experience flying sequences with wind effects and water scenes with mist. Enhanced by 3D glasses, viewers will be immersed deeper in the world of Pandora.

Tickets will be available to book via the Cineworld website or app. New Mersey Retail Park also houses brands such as Argos, Currys, H&M and JD Sports.
