Gary Neville and Roy Keane clashed live on air as the former Manchester United teammates disagreed over Scotland captain John McGinn's abilities. The debate erupted during ITV's World Cup coverage.
The Disagreement
Neville praised McGinn extensively, saying: "I absolutely love John McGinn. I think he plays in most teams in the Premier League. He's technically excellent, takes the ball, understands his role and is adaptable."
Keane responded sharply: "I think it's a bit of an exaggeration from Gary. An excellent player but you are making out he can walk into any team. I am not sure about that."
McGinn's Achievements
The Aston Villa midfielder captains Scotland at their first World Cup since 1998. He recently won the Europa League with Villa and hopes to carry that form into the tournament. Scotland begin against Haiti on Sunday, then face Morocco and Brazil.
McGinn urged his teammates to inspire the next generation: "It's been a long time since we've seen that with Scottish players. It puts a smile on my face to see the excitement of children again."
