South Korean actor Jeon Seung-jae has died at the age of 46, his death confirmed on Wednesday 29 July 2026. The performer had been in a coma since collapsing on set in 2024 while filming the TV drama Koryeo-Goran War.
Jeon suffered a brain haemorrhage and required emergency surgery, but never regained consciousness. News of his critical condition was only made public three months after the incident, prompting an outpouring of support from fans. His co-stars Park Ji Yeon and Seong Do Hyun offered prayers and shared a donation link.

They urged supporters: "Please send your prayers for him to give him strength. Small acts of sincerity are most needed right now. Please join hands to help him." Fans have expressed devastation on social media. One wrote on X/Twitter: "Too sad. Rest In Peace." Another said: "My deepest condolences. Mourning once again for the world of Korean cinema."
Family statement and career
Jeon's elder sister, Jeon Seong-young, told StarNews: "My younger brother had no major abnormalities during his health checkup just last December and had no problems with his physical condition in general. It was so sudden." The actor began his career in the 2004 film Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War and later appeared in Netflix's The Good, The Bad, The Weird, as well as Bokmyeon Dalho, Haeundae, Hello Ghost, The Age of Shadows, Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days, and TV dramas Splendid Politics and High Kick Through the Roof.
A funeral procession is set for 6am on 31 July.
