Nelly Furtado turned heads at the Superbloom Festival in Germany over the weekend, showcasing her curves in a daringly short pinstripe mini dress. The 46-year-old singer's outfit gave fans a glimpse of her derriere and highlighted her curvaceous legs, while a chunky belt accentuated her hourglass figure. She completed the look with poker-straight hair, stacks of necklaces, and black biker boots.
Earlier this year, Furtado addressed online criticism about her appearance with a body positivity message on social media. Posing in an orange bikini, she wrote about experiencing new levels of self-love and genuine confidence. 'This year I became aware of the aesthetic pressure of my work in a brand new way, while simultaneously I experienced new levels of self-love and genuine confidence from within,' she shared.
The 'Maneater' singer also denied having any cosmetic surgery or fillers, attributing her youthful look to an old-school skincare routine. 'I have never had any face or body surgeries or augmentation, besides veneers on the top row of my teeth, quite recently,' she clarified. She revealed that she relies on serums and creams from her facialist, drinks plenty of water before events, and sleeps on her back to maintain her appearance.
Furtado explained that beauty tricks like face tape and body tape are sometimes used during photo shoots and red carpet events. 'Sometimes my makeup artist uses face tape to give my eyes, skin, and makeup more lift. Sometimes my stylist uses body tape to create different silhouettes,' she said. She encouraged fans to embrace self-acceptance, stating, 'My New Year's message for 2025 is: express yourself freely, celebrate your individuality, and know that it's perfectly OK to be OK with what you see in the mirror.'
In a November podcast interview, Furtado revealed that she feels more confident in her forties than ever before. 'I feel super happy with myself, even when I get criticised,' she told Alex Cooper on Call Her Daddy. She credited her confidence to working on her 'inner life' through journaling and therapy, adding, 'I'll be 46 soon, and it's a new beginning for me. It's a very fun time in my life.'
