Munchetty is known for her dry sense of humour, which has often been interpreted as rudeness by viewers. She has faced criticism over on-air interactions with co-stars, including Carol Kirkwood and Charlie Stayt. A recent incident saw her slammed for a remark toward Carol on her final day presenting the show.

Her departure follows a series of reported bullying allegations. Last year, it was reported that she had been placed under review following allegations relating to her conduct over a three-year period. It was reported she had been accused of bullying a female colleague, allegedly accusing a junior staff member of stealing without evidence. It is alleged that Munchetty also made a "wildly unprofessional" off-air sex joke that reportedly left a colleague feeling uncomfortable.
In November 2025, further reports claimed BBC bosses had assigned "watchdogs" to monitor her behaviour in the Salford studio as the matter was investigated. The outcome of any internal investigation has not been made public.

Munchetty is preparing to shift her focus to co-presenting BBC Radio 5 Live's breakfast show. As BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Heidi Dawson said, "Naga is a hugely valued member of the 5 Live family." The move allows her to draw a line under a controversial chapter and focus on new work within the BBC. The timing, given the allegations, suggests it is a smart decision to leave the flagship programme behind.
