Strictly Come Dancing professional Nadiya Bychkova has said 'it's hard to believe' as she marked the end of a chapter following her departure from the BBC One dance show. The dancer took to Instagram to reflect on her time touring with Jukebox Idols, a show featuring The Overtones and former Olympian Louis Smith, which concluded with a final performance.
Nadiya's Strictly Journey
Nadiya joined the Strictly pro line-up in 2017, initially paired with EastEnders actor Davood Ghadami. Over the years, she danced with celebrity partners including Blue singer Lee Ryan, former footballer David James, swimmer Tom Dean, presenter Dan Walker, and rugby star Chris Robshaw. In March 2026, she confirmed her departure from the show amid reports of a professional dancer cull ahead of the 2026 series, stating she would always be grateful for the experience.
Tour and Final Show
Following her Strictly exit, Nadiya embarked on a tour with Jukebox Idols alongside The Overtones and Louis Smith. The tour ended with a final show, and Nadiya shared a heartfelt Instagram post ahead of it. She wrote: 'One last time. Tonight, we take to the stage for the final performance of @jukeboxidols. It's hard to believe this chapter is coming to an end.'
She continued: 'A few months ago, we came together with one goal, to create a show that would make people smile and bring joy. Somewhere along the way, it became so much more. It became laughter on long journeys, conversations that made the miles disappear, standing ovations that reminded us why we do what we do, friendships I'll carry with me, and memories that will always have a special place in my heart.'
Gratitude and Messages
Nadiya thanked The Overtones for welcoming her, Louis Smith for his friendship and energy, and her dance partner for being 'the best partner I could have wished for.' She also expressed appreciation for the crew, wardrobe team, and young dance artists India Taylor and Mia. The post received an outpouring of support, with fans praising her performances and calling for more shows.
Nadiya's departure follows that of fellow pro Karen Hauer, who left after 14 years, and Luba Mushtuk, Michelle Tsiakkas, and Gorka Marquez, who also confirmed their exits. Nadiya's Instagram post concluded: 'The curtain may fall, but the friendships, the memories and the gratitude will stay with me forever. One last show. One last bow. Let's make it unforgettable. Thank you, Jukebox Idols, for a summer I'll never forget.'
