Myleene Klass skips Hear'Say reunion in hot pants at work

Myleene Klass has confirmed she will not take part in Hear'Say's 25th anniversary reunion tour, explaining that her busy work schedule prevents her from committing to the project. The 48-year-old made the announcement while sharing a series of outfit photos from her day jobs, including a racy hot pants look.

Hear'Say announces comeback

The British pop group, which rose to fame on TV show Popstars in 2001, revealed last Thursday (October 1) that they were reforming after nearly 25 years apart. The band split after just 20 months together in 2002, with members citing inadequate record label backing, falling sales, and relentless public hostility and street harassment as the primary factors behind their dissolution.

They confirmed their comeback by creating a fresh official Instagram account (@hearsayuk) and sharing a teaser clip styled to resemble a WhatsApp group conversation. In the footage, member Noel Sullivan asks: "Fancy getting the band back together?" to commemorate the 25th anniversary of their breakthrough.

Kym Marsh, Suzanne Shaw, Noel Sullivan, and Danny Foster are all set to return for the forthcoming tour. However, Myleene has confirmed she will not accompany them owing to her hectic work commitments.

The musician, TV presenter, model, writer and charity campaigner operates across a vast array of industries. Alongside regularly presenting popular daytime programmes for national radio stations Classic FM (since 2006) and Smooth Radio (since 2014), she is also a frequent panellist on ITV's Loose Women and has fronted major shows like The One Show, Popstar to Operastar, and the Classic BRIT Awards throughout the years.

Photographing from the Global offices, which house Classic FM and Smooth Radio, Myleene demonstrated why she could not participate in the reunion this week while she was occupied with work commitments. The star flaunted her legs as she paired a crisp shirt and tie with grey hot pants and platform strappy heels. She later posted another Instagram photo wearing a lacy pair of hot pants with a houndstooth pattern cardigan for a Loose Women appearance, accessorised with black-rimmed glasses, sheer knee-high socks and the same heels.

Reason for skipping the tour

Myleene took advantage of her appearance on Loose Women this week to elaborate on why she will not participate in the reunion. "Well, they were really sweet, and they did include me in the discussions," she shared on the show. "But it's not something I can commit to at the moment. I just really can't."

She explained that committing to a project of this magnitude is challenging when the details are still up in the air. She pointed out: "I know that they're still figuring out a lot of the moving parts of it, and until they do that, you know, there's nothing sort of necessarily set in stone."

She emphasised that there is no animosity or drama behind the decision and spoke warmly of her time in the early 2000s band. Myleene added: "I love the guys dearly. It was an incredibly important time in my life. It taught me so much. You know, epic songs like that and moments like that."

Hear'Say's chart history

Hear'Say dominated the charts in 2001, defining the early-2000s UK pop scene with four major hit singles across two studio albums. Their debut track, Pure and Simple, shot straight to Number 1, selling 550,000 copies in its first week to become the fastest-selling debut single in UK chart history at the time.

The group's remaining three singles were The Way to Your Love, which became their second straight Number 1 hit, alongside Everybody, the lead track from their sophomore album, which climbed to Number 4, and Lovin' Is Easy – their last charting release, which hit Number 6 before the band eventually disbanded.
