Myleene Klass Jokes About Record-Long Engagement, No Wedding Plans Yet
Myleene Klass: No Wedding Plans After Five-Year Engagement

Television and radio personality Myleene Klass has candidly admitted that there is no wedding on the horizon, despite being engaged to her long-term partner Simon Motson for over five years. The 47-year-old star has been in a relationship with PR expert Simon, 49, for eleven years, with the proposal taking place in August 2020 featuring a striking 7.6 carat black diamond ring.

No Wedding Bells in Sight

In a recent interview, Myleene humorously poked fun at their lengthy engagement before confirming that there are no signs of wedding bells ringing anytime soon. 'I don't know what the longest engagement in the history of the world is, but this could be it,' she quipped. 'We've all been dragging our heels with it, haven't we?'

When pressed about whether a wedding might occur this year, Myleene responded with uncertainty, saying, 'Maybe, I don't know.' She speculated that her frequent opportunities to dress up for concerts and events might mean any ceremony would need to offer something uniquely different to feel special.

Family Dynamics and Blended Households

Myleene and Simon share a six-year-old son named Apollo. Additionally, Myleene is mother to two daughters from a previous relationship: Ava, aged 18, and Hero, aged 14. She raised the girls independently after splitting from their father, bodyguard Graham Quinn, in 2013. Myleene revealed that her daughters are particularly eager to see her walk down the aisle again, with Hero especially vocal about the topic.

'Hero will be really happy you asked that [about marriage], because she's always asking me the same thing,' Myleene told Hello! magazine.

Past Relationships and Single Parenthood

Myleene's previous marriage to Graham Quinn lasted only six months before he walked out on her birthday in 2013, ending a twelve-year relationship. She navigated single motherhood until meeting Simon in 2015. Reflecting on this period, Myleene expressed pride in her ability to raise her daughters alone, noting that financial independence allowed her to make autonomous decisions for her children, which she found empowering.

'In fact, being both 'mum and dad' to my daughters is my proudest achievement. It's scary, but sometimes doing it alone is surprisingly easier,' she shared in a heartfelt message.

Navigating Blended Families

Myleene also discussed the complexities of blended families, comparing her experiences with those of her friends and Simon, who has a 17-year-old son and a 13-year-old daughter from a prior relationship with Anna Walton. She acknowledged the challenges but emphasized the growing prevalence of such family structures.

'Blended families are the biggest, fastest growing set up and whilst blending them can have challenges, acknowledging the 2.4 nuclear unit no longer exists and this is the shape for many to come, makes it feel less of a stigma and something to navigate and thrive in,' Myleene explained.

She concluded by praising step-parents, including Simon, for their dedication, stating, 'To the 'Steps' that 'step up' everyday and show little eyes that are loved and adored, thank you. To the mums/dads that pull double shift, double duty alone, I see you. To our very own 'Sim/Dad', we love you.'
