Myleene Klass has revealed why she is not joining Hear'Say for their reunion, saying she is too busy and cannot commit at the moment.
Why Myleene Klass is skipping the reunion
Despite being together for just two years, Hear'Say were one of the most talked about bands of their time. Back in 2000, Hear'Say were propelled to fame as the first band to be manufactured on British reality TV. Each member of the group, Danny Foster, Suzanne Shaw, Noel Sullivan, Kym Marsh, and Myleene Klass, auditioned with the hopes of landing a spot in the band.
Despite their success, cracks had already begun to form. In 2001, it was reported that Kym would be leaving due to an alleged feud with Myleene, a claim Kym denied. She later quit the band. The following year, the group disbanded and said they had been a "fad" that had passed.
Band members consulted Myleene
Now, they are gearing up to reunite – almost 25 years after they split. Myleene, 48, however, was not included in the band's social media post hinting at the news.
However, Myleene had nothing but praise for her former bandmates, saying they were "really sweet," and consulted her about plans. She said on Loose Women: "They did include me in the discussions. But it's not something I can commit to at the moment.
"I just really can't. I know that they're still figuring out a lot of the moving parts of it, and until they do that, you know, there's nothing sort of necessary set in stone. But for me, I'm just super busy. I'm committed to you guys."
Myleene's happy memories and future plans
She does, however, look back on her time with the band with happy memories and says that she and the rest of the band remain on good terms. "I love the guys dearly," she said, adding: "It was an incredibly important time in my life. It taught me so much. You know, epic songs like that and moments like that."
But, she hasn't completely ruled out ever revisiting her time in the band. Myleene insists she will be in the front row seeing them perform, but joked that she may not remember all the lyrics.
"I would never say never about anything," she commented, adding to her Loose co-stars: "As I said earlier to you guys, you know, I don't really agree on revisiting the past."
Myleene went on to say that nothing is "set in stone" with her former band, adding: "Like I said before, until there's things set in stone, it's very difficult to commit to something that's so up in the air. And I think they're just figuring things out as well. But I really do appreciate that they came and included me."
Last week, the band hinted at future plans when they opened up an Instagram account. They shared a WhatsApp group chat, which saw Danny write: "Wow... can you believe the response to that tour clip we posted?!"
Suzanne replied: "I know right, amazing! Ahhh the memories... can you believe it was 25 years ago?!" "OK, so hear me out..." Wrote Noel, with Kym replying: "Go on." He said: "Fancy getting the band back together?"
Myleene was included in the group chat but didn't send any messages.
