A mum pregnant with twins was left shocked after being served a 'rock hard' breakfast at a German hospital, following more than 14 hours without food.
Breakfast served in prenatal unit
The woman, staying in a prenatal unit in Germany, posted a photo of her breakfast on the R/hospitalfood Reddit thread. She described the meal as: 'One rock hard cold bread roll, one rock hard kiwi, unsalted margarine, jam, and cream cheese.' She added that dinner had been served 14 and a half hours earlier, and she was grateful her husband was bringing her 'real food'.
Outrage from commenters
The post drew hundreds of comments expressing outrage. One commenter said: 'I'm sorry they're not feeding you properly.' Another wrote: 'If you looked up the word Dismal in the Illustrated Dictionary, there would a picture of this repast.' A third commented: 'I'd have expected this to be fed to a criminal on death row.'
One fellow mum shared her own experience: 'This is as bad as when I got given a stale cheese sandwich and room temperature apple juice after 16 hours of labour.'
Husband brings Turkish food
When asked what her husband brought, the mum replied: 'He brought me some charcoal grilled Turkish food last night with enough for leftovers for this morning. Real meat and vegetables to round out... whatever this is.'
