Marks & Spencer has released a new film titled "Love Letter to Scotland" to commemorate Scotland's return to the FIFA World Cup for the first time since 1998. The film, launched across M&S social media channels last Friday, celebrates the 4,000 Scottish farms, sea farms, and fishing vessels that partner with M&S to supply top-quality Scottish produce to customers throughout the UK.
Film Features Scottish Suppliers
The film features Gordon Porter, who grows M&S Red Diamond Strawberries at Angus Soft Fruits in Arbroath, alongside Rachael and Alastair Duncan from Duncan Farms in Aberdeenshire, who supply all of M&S's Scottish free-range eggs. It also includes farmers Michael, Will, and Robbie from Oban's Scottish Sea Farms, who provide M&S with responsibly sourced Scottish salmon.
Viewers get a taste of the thousands of Scottish suppliers that enable M&S to offer what it calls "pure dead brilliant scran." The film showcases stunning Scottish scenery, including rugged mountains, misty glens, and deepest lochs.
Parallels Between Suppliers and Football Team
The film draws parallels between M&S's trusted Scottish suppliers and the "heroes and history-makers" in the Scottish national football team. M&S colleagues from across Scotland cheered on the national team ahead of Scotland's first World Cup game last Sunday, emphasizing that "this is not just a team."
Scotland qualified for the World Cup in November last year after defeating Denmark. The film celebrates both the team's achievement and the rich agricultural heritage of Scotland.
