M&S Launches New Chocolate, Strawberry and Pistachio Creme Sandwich
M&S Launches New Chocolate Strawberry Pistachio Sandwich

Marks & Spencer has relaunched its viral Red Diamond Strawberry & Creme Sandwich for summer 2026, alongside a new sibling: the Chocolate, Strawberry and Pistachio Creme Sandwich. The original Japanese-style fruit sandwich sold 75,000 units in its first five days last year, prompting the retailer to expand the range.

New Flavours and Availability

The new Chocolate, Strawberry and Pistachio Creme Sandwich features soft chocolate bread filled with Belgian dark chocolate spread, topped with sliced British strawberries, and finished with a layer of smooth pistachio creme. Both sandwiches are available in stores now as limited-edition items.

According to Emma Gill, Parents Editor at Manchester Family, the sandwiches were already low in stock just a day after launch. The original Strawberry & Creme Sandwich costs £2.80, while the new chocolate variant is £3.50.

Matching Dips Also Launched

M&S has also introduced two new sweet dips: Strawberry & Cream Fruity Dip (£3.25) and Chocolate & Pistachio Dip (£3.75). The strawberry dip combines whipping cream, full-fat soft cheese, and Greek-style yoghurt layered with strawberry compote. M&S recommends serving it with shortbread or pretzels.

Emma Gill sampled the strawberry dip, describing it as "luxuriously smooth" and a "heavenly mouthful" when paired with fresh strawberries. The pistachio dip was already out of stock at the time of her visit.

Reception and Taste Test

Gill noted that the chocolate-pistachio sandwich offers a balanced flavour, with earthy pistachio creme complementing the rich chocolate spread. The bread is sweetened but not overly so, making it distinct from cake. She described the product as somewhere between a sandwich and a cake, adding that "in true 2026 fashion, I guess 'it is what it is', but give one a go and you might just be pleasantly surprised."

The success of last year's Wimbledon-inspired sandwich prompted the expansion. Gill remarked, "If M&S' Wimbledon-inspired sandwich had fallen flat last year, it wouldn't be serving up seconds. Thousands of fans can't be wrong."
