Molly Smith won't change name online after Mallorca wedding

Molly Smith has revealed she will not change her last name on her online profiles after marrying Tom Clare in Mallorca this summer. The Love Island couple tied the knot at the Son Marroig mansion on August 22, less than a year after Tom, 27, proposed to Molly, 32, during a trip to Dubai in September 2025.

Legal ceremony in Manchester first

The pair legally wed at Stockport Town Hall near Manchester in a courthouse ceremony before hosting a larger celebration abroad. Speaking exclusively to the Record, Molly and Tom said they always wanted an overseas wedding but first had their eye on an "extortionate" venue in the South of France.

Tom laughed as he admitted: "It was too expensive. We asked for access to an extra little area and they were like yeah that's an extra forty grand."

Dream venue found

Luckily, the pair found their dream venue in Mallorca, with Molly saying: "When you know, you know." Summarising the day, Tom told the Record: "It was perfect. To have all your loved ones in a room with you, it's a once in a lifetime moment."

Molly described the moment they wed as an "out of body experience", saying: "It felt like it was just me and Tom. It was beautiful."

Name change plans

However, the star admitted she is yet to legally change her last name and will likely not update her online profiles. She told the Record: "I've not legally changed my name yet but when I do it and letters come through saying Mrs Clare that's gonna be weird. Because we had an abroad wedding we just wanted to get all that out the way first."

She added: "As for my platforms and things, I'm not sure I'm gonna change it on there. It's a lot of hassle to try and change all my platforms. I'll just leave it for now."

Wedding traditions broken

Molly also revealed the pair broke a huge wedding tradition during both their legal and abroad wedding. She said: "During the legal wedding we stayed together the night before and for the actual main wedding, I didn't throw the bouquet."

Molly and Tom stayed apart the night before their Mallorca ceremony, however, as both revealed two very different wedding eve experiences. Molly said that after dining out she didn't go to bed until 2am while Tom had a full ten hours sleep.

She said: "Honestly I saw videos of him on his story and he was like 'Aw me and Casey have been sat here reminiscing. We've had such great memories' and I thought 'Who's getting married here?' Me and Sophie my maid of honour are steaming my wedding dress, my veil, hanging the bridesmaid dresses up. I thought 'It's alright for some isn't it?'"

Discussing the moment she walked down the aisle, Molly said: "When we were walking and I saw Tom, I got this fully calming aura that came over. And I just stayed looking at him and felt instantly calm."

Honeymoon and future plans

After the ceremony, the pair "let loose" and enjoyed a night of celebrations with their Love Island pals. Revealing their honeymoon plans, Molly and Tom told the Record they are returning to South Africa where they first met, after Molly's parents bought them a safari for their wedding gift.

Tom said: "We want to go back near where we met because we love that place." Molly added: "South Africa is so beautiful and to get to explore it properly ourselves too because when we were on the show, you're kind of chaperoned and only allowed to go certain places at certain times so it'll be nice to go alone."

Speaking of their future podcasting plans now that Nearly Weds is over, the couple teased that they may have a new show on the way. Molly said: "We'd love to have another podcast. We're in talks for it. We get a lot of messages from people saying they want us to carry it on. We just have to wait and see." Tom echoed: "We really want to carry it on but it's on other people's hands now."
