Love Island stars Molly Smith and Tom Clare have opened up about their wedding day in Mallorca, describing it as a 'perfect day' filled with boozy celebrations and memorable moments. The couple, who met on Love Island: All Stars in 2024 and won the show together, exchanged vows at the clifftop Son Marroig palace at the end of August.
A Boozy Celebration with Love Island Friends
Tom, 27, and Molly, 32, admitted they 'let loose' after the ceremony with their fellow Love Islanders. Tom even missed the cake being cut as Molly giggled he was 'quite drunk' and woke up the following morning with a swollen face after discovering he is allergic to champagne.
Revealing the biggest party animal out of their Love Island pals, Tom and Molly both named Sophie Piper, who also appeared on Love Island: All Stars 2024 with her boyfriend Josh Ritchie. Molly told the Record: "Sophie was crazy, she was sending Josh to the bar to buy pints and he was coming back with like ten pints and we were all chanting and picking on someone to down them."
Drunken Tattoos and Police Calls
Sophie was among the group of guests who woke up with a drunken tattoo of a tequila shot after the boozy night. Molly and Tom had planned to get matching tattoos when it suddenly turned into a group activity. Molly said: "I was with the girls, then next thing happened we all just ended up saying lets get matching tequila shots. I thought someone is going to back out. We all love a tequila."
The wedding party also made headlines due to their after-party chaos. The next morning, they had been at a harbour side restaurant when they started jumping into the sea from a restricted port and the police were phoned. Molly explained: "There was people on the rocks like cheering and we thought everyone is in the boats here, we'll jump in. We got a telling off for it and told to not do it again but there were no signs."
Wedding Eve Drama and Future Plans
The incident was not the only mention of police throughout their wedding trip. On their Nearly Weds podcast, Tom and Molly explained they had been dining out on their wedding eve in a restaurant with 'horrendous' service when a relative went to the toilet and discovered the waiter and the chef having sex in the toilet. Tom said: "The service was horrible. It was getting late and Molly's sister in law went to the toilet and saw the chef in the toilet with the waiter. They were calling us liars and said it never happened."
Tom praised Molly for not being a 'bridezilla' as she even found time to go to the gym on their wedding morning. Molly said she felt very calm walking down the aisle, explaining: "When I saw Tom I got this fully calming aura that came over. And I just stayed looking at him. It's like an out of body experience. It felt like it was just me and him. It was beautiful."
After their recent mini-moon in Bodrum, Turkey, Molly and Tom plan to return to South Africa, where they first met, for their honeymoon. Speaking of their future plans now that their Nearly Weds podcast is over, the couple teased another show may be in the works. Molly said: "We get a lot of messages from people say they want us to carry it on. We just have to wait and see." Tom added: "We really want to carry it on but its on other people's hands now."
