Molly Ringwald 'barely aged' at 58 in glam new snap

Molly Ringwald, the 1980s icon known for The Breakfast Club, has prompted fans to say she has "barely aged" at 58 after sharing a glamorous new photo online. The actress, once the golden girl of the 'Brat Pack' of young actors, starred in director John Hughes' timeless classics including Sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink.

Audition ordeal and move to France

As her career soared, Ringwald was shaken by a disturbing and demeaning audition that prompted her to quit Hollywood and move to France. She later revealed she was "blindsided" when an unnamed director asked her to let the male lead put a dog collar around her neck - which wasn't in the script.

Recent appearances and fan reaction

Now 58, the actress most recently appeared in the American drama series Feud in 2024. Earlier this week, she was photographed alongside Broadway stars Leslie Odom Jr. and Darren Criss in New York City at a celebration honouring composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist partner Lorenz Hart. Standing between the pair, she looked decades younger than her actual age, captioning an Instagram post: "Backstage with these two." She wore a full-length sleeveless black gown with a metallic belt that matched her neckline, smiling with a striking berry red lipstick.

Her youthful appearance sparked numerous comments from her 1.2 million followers. One fan reminisced: "It still amazes me that you bought a Cocker Spaniel from us back in 1984 in Oklahoma City after filming, and you literally still look the exact same after 40 years." A second person added: "So Molly doesn't age which is amazing." A third quipped: "If you could start looking your age that would be great for the rest of us, thanks." A fourth enthused: "You look so beautiful, with that hair colour and lipstick."

Career and personal life

The 'Brat Pack' also included Rob Lowe, Judd Nelson, Emilio Estevez, Anthony Michael Hall, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, and Ally Sheedy. Ringwald has been described as late director John Hughes' muse and once admitted having a "mad crush" on him.

After moving to Paris, she continued to star in films and TV shows, flying back to the US to work. She later returned to live in the US and has owned homes in California and New York. In 1999 she married Valéry Lameignère, a French writer, in Bordeaux, but they divorced in 2002. She married Panio Gianopoulos, a Greek-American writer, in 2007, and they have three children together.
