Misse Beqiri has opened up about how her eight-year-old daughter River is coping two months after the death of her father, former TOWIE star Jake Hall. Hall died on May 6 at age 35 after suffering a chest injury caused by broken glass at a rented holiday villa in Santa Margalida, Mallorca, where he had been living.
River's 'Horrendous' Grief
Speaking to HELLO!, Beqiri described the moment she broke the news to River as 'horrendous and hurtful.' She said: 'It was horrendous and hurtful, and it's because I knew how much she loved her dad, and for me to say, "He's not here," it's the worst thing I've ever had to do, I think, and will ever have to do.'
Beqiri added that the family cried together and hugged, emphasizing the support from both sides: 'We were all crying together, hugging each other, but, she got us, she got her family, she got Jake's family she's very close to, so we're all keeping together and just loving each other very, very hard.'
Coping Seven Weeks On
Seven weeks after Hall's death, Beqiri says River is 'getting there' but grief can strike at any moment. 'One day she's okay, next day she's not. The third day she's a bit angry and has a lot of questions. We're all helping her, we're all here for her.'
Beqiri praised her son Julian, whom she shares with ex-partner Anders Lindegaard, and Hall's brother Sonny for supporting River, noting they have a 'beautiful bond.'
Heartfelt Tribute
Following Hall's death, Beqiri shared a tribute on social media, writing: 'I loved you from the very first moment I saw you, and there was never a chance you were going to let me go. Together we created the most beautiful girl, the one you loved more than anything in this world, beyond words.'
She continued: 'I never thought I would ever have to write this, and the pain of even putting these words down feels unbearable. There was no way you were ever supposed to go. My heart is shattered, and so is our daughter's. Your love for her was so strong it almost scared me, because I knew you would go to the ends of the earth for her. She adored you - her favourite person, her daddy. You will be missed. I promise to keep River safe, loved, and wrapped in the kind of love you gave so effortlessly. You are at peace now.'
She concluded: 'You left behind your mini version, our River, and for that we are forever grateful. You will always live on through her, and you will forever be with us.'
Background on Jake Hall
Hall appeared on TOWIE between 2015 and 2024 and later launched his menswear label, By Jake Hall. His funeral last month was attended by Beqiri and former TOWIE co-stars including Chloe Lewis, Lydia Bright, James Argent, Liam Blackwell, Demi Sims, Tommy Mallet and Georgia Kousoulou. His exact cause of death remains unknown as a post-mortem examination was inconclusive.
Hall's death comes a decade after he was reportedly stabbed at a nightclub in Puerto Banus, Spain, which affected his kidney.
