Pageant Pays Tribute
"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Miss Universe Jamaica alumna LaToya Malcolm," the organisation wrote in a statement. They added that she would "never be forgotten." Malcolm was a standout contestant in the 2024 pageant, competing while grieving the loss of her father.
She later won the Miss Jamaica Bikini International title, dedicating her win to her father in a heartfelt message. Malcolm was also involved in the Transition Project, a program that helps underprivileged teenagers prepare for adulthood.

Gabrielle Henry, the current Miss Universe Jamaica titleholder, was among those paying tribute. She described Malcolm's passing as "a great loss" and said her impact and voice "will not be forgotten."
