Minnie Driver has shared that she is “in shock” after experiencing a “really bad” car accident while on holiday in France. The 56-year-old actress, known for her role in Good Will Hunting, posted a video from her bed with a blue foam support around her neck, explaining that she and her friend, fellow actor Ben Homewood, had been driving in rural France when another car drove through an intersection and their vehicle “T-boned” it.
Crash details
“Paris update: is that I’m actually back in London,” she told the camera, as she lay next to her dog. “I got into a really bad car accident a few days ago with my friend Ben. We somehow walked out of there – well, we didn’t walk out of it, we crawled out of it – but we did get out of it alive.”
Clarifying that it was not their fault, she said: “We were driving on a country road in the middle of France, and a car didn’t stop at an intersection and was going at speed, and we just T-boned it.”
Health update and gratitude
Driver, who sprained her neck in the accident, said she is “really in shock and cry all the time, but I’m going to heal and the reason I’m not dead, honestly, is the car that we were driving… so that the entire car didn’t just concertina and crush us.” She joked that she wasn’t being paid to advertise the car, adding: “I’m Minnie Driver, pun intended, I need to celebrate the car that saved us. Because we’ve got families and people who love us, and I am so grateful to be alive.”

In the caption, she wrote: “My brain keeps replaying the crash which is very hard but seems to be a necessary part of processing. Weeping too, feels good and helpful.”
