Millie Bobby Brown has revealed she believes she was a closeted gay soldier who died after being killed with a sword through the spine in a past life. The 22-year-old Stranger Things star made the confession during an interview with Capital Buzz alongside her Enola Holmes 3 co-star Louis Partridge.
Birthmark as Evidence
Brown explained that a birthmark on her lower back led her to this conclusion. 'I have a birthmark on my lower back, the very bottom of my spine, which is obviously meant to be the way that you died in your past life,' she said. She elaborated on medieval battlefield executions, stating: 'In war… to kill people but make them have a painful death, they would put swords up people’s spines. So they were completely paralysed, but they would obviously kind of die, and that’s how I think I died.'
From there, she pieced together her former identity: 'I think I might have been a soldier. Definitely a man. Hopefully a closeted gay man.' She did not specify the war or time period, though the sword clue suggests a pre-modern era.
Co-Star's Skepticism
Louis Partridge, however, was not convinced. When asked about his own past life, he replied: 'No, I don’t believe in past lives.' Brown accepted his response with 'Okay, well, that ends that then.' The conversation then shifted to the afterlife, with Brown stating she believes people go to heaven after death.
Brown is no stranger to swords in this lifetime. She starred in the 2024 Netflix film Damsel, playing a princess who fights a dragon with a sword. The role may have felt familiar given her past-life beliefs.
