Millie Bobby Brown has spoken publicly about her adopted daughter for the first time, insisting she wants to keep her out of the spotlight. The 21-year-old actress, who welcomed a baby girl with husband Jake Bongiovi via adoption in August, addressed the topic in an interview with British Vogue.
When asked about her daughter’s personality, Brown pushed back with what the interviewer described as “fiery conviction”. “For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself,” she said. “It’s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly.”
Brown reiterated that she and Bongiovi are prioritising their daughter’s privacy while she is still young. “If she chooses to share her personality one day with the world, like I did when I was young, that’s something we’d support,” she added. The couple have no plans to share the baby’s name until she can decide for herself.
However, Brown did open up about the joy of starting her family, describing it as “a beautiful, amazing journey”. She said her daughter “has taught us so much already” and filled their days with “cuddles and laughter and love”. The actress emphasised that she and Bongiovi are “50-50 on everything” when it comes to parenting, calling him “the most amazing dad”.
Brown and Bongiovi announced the adoption on Instagram in August, writing: “This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.” The couple, who married in a secret ceremony in May 2024 followed by a larger wedding in Italy, have previously expressed their desire for a big family.
