Miley Cyrus has been honored with her own Barbie Signature Collector doll, fulfilling a childhood dream. The popstar, who received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in May, worked closely with Mattel on the design.
Design Details and Inspiration
"Seeing my Barbie for the first time is a dream come true," Miley said. The doll is based on her outfit from the "Golden Burning Sun" music video, featuring a faux-leather two-piece pant set, hooded jacket, and a microphone. Cyrus emphasized the importance of imperfections: "We did not miss any marks when it came down to the design of my doll from the look, the hair, the accessories, the makeup, and the structure. Every detail was purposeful, and we spent a lot of time perfecting her—not to be perfect, because that wouldn’t be representative of me."
Availability and Price
The Barbie Signature Miley Cyrus Collectible Doll is priced at £69.99 and is available from July 1 through major retailers. It joins the Barbie Signature Series alongside Kylie Minogue, Stevie Nicks, David Bowie, Elvis Presley, and Elton John.
