Boxing legend Mike Tyson turns 60 today, and his love life has been as tumultuous as his career. From a brief marriage to actress Robin Givens to a romance with supermodel Naomi Campbell, Tyson has experienced highs and lows in his personal relationships. Currently, he is happily married to Lakiha Spicer, whom he wed in 2009.
Robin Givens: A Whirlwind Marriage
Tyson married actress Robin Givens in 1988, just 11 months after their first date. According to Tyson, the rushed wedding occurred after Givens announced she was pregnant. He spent £3 million on a New Jersey home for her and her mother, and deposited another £6.5 million into a bank account. However, Givens later revealed she had a miscarriage, and the couple divorced soon after. In his autobiography, Tyson recounted an incident where he caught Givens in bed with actor Brad Pitt. Pitt allegedly pleaded, "Dude, don't strike me," as Tyson confronted them.
Naomi Campbell: A Passionate but Chaotic Romance
In 1989, Tyson began dating supermodel Naomi Campbell. According to his former manager Rory Holloway, they met at a New York party and instantly connected. Holloway wrote in his book, "I was there to keep Mike out of trouble... and when I looked over, he was talking to this girl. It was Naomi Campbell." Tyson described their relationship as passionate but volatile, saying, "We fought a lot. I was always with other girls and she didn't like that." He added, "She was so focused on her career. She was just an awesome strong-willed person."
Monica Turner: Support Through Prison
Tyson married Monica Turner in 1997, eight years after meeting her at a party thrown by Eddie Murphy. Turner stood by Tyson during his three-year prison sentence for rape, visiting him regularly. After his release, they moved to Maryland and had two children, Rayna and Amir. However, Turner filed for divorce in 2003, citing adultery.
Lakiha Spicer: A Stable Partnership
Tyson has been married to Lakiha "Kiki" Spicer since 2009. They met through boxing promoter Dom King in the early 2000s. Despite a rocky start—Tyson admitted to cheating on her, and Spicer served six months in federal jail for fraud while pregnant with Tyson's child—the couple has remained together. Spicer helped Tyson overcome his drug addiction, and he credits her for his stability. "I'm very happy me and my wife got together, because I don't know how I would have survived out there," he told People magazine.
