Michelle Keegan's Heartache Over 200-Mile Family Distance

Michelle Keegan has opened up about the challenges of her long-distance marriage to Mark Wright, revealing the emotional toll of living 200 miles apart. The former Coronation Street star admitted that the separation is 'difficult' as her husband hosts a US entertainment show called Extra in Los Angeles.

Keegan, 30, explained that the couple tries not to spend more than three weeks apart, though they have endured six-week separations. 'We miss each other and staying in is our favourite date night,' she told You magazine. The pair rely on FaceTime and make lists of activities they plan to do when reunited.

After eight months of commuting between LA and London, Keegan is now seeking work in the US to be with Wright full-time. However, the Manchester-born actress admitted that LA is not her long-term home. 'It's always so sunny; it's so easy to be healthy and happy there. But I'm a northern girl. I miss my family; I miss Manchester; I miss my nine brilliant girlfriends,' she said.

Wright, however, has vowed to return to the UK if Keegan decides she cannot settle in LA. 'If Michelle didn't like living here and she wanted me to move home... then for sure I would. That comes first,' he said on Good Morning Britain. The couple married in 2015.
