Michael Douglas reveals what he loves most about Zeta-Jones

Michael Douglas has shared an intimate detail about his marriage to Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones during an appearance on the Heart Radio Breakfast Show on Friday (October 30). The couple, who have a 25-year age gap and share the same birthday, have been married since 2000 and share two children, Dylan and Carys.

What Michael loves most about Catherine

Asked by hosts Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston what he loves most about Catherine, from Swansea, Michael revealed: "The thing I love the most I must say, that I never get tired of, is Catherine [was] a British tap dancing champion when she was like seven years old so sometimes I say to her, 'Come on let's go into the bathroom', [which has] a marble floor, and she says 'Okay' and I get a few taps."

Seemingly taken aback by his admission, Jamie asked: "You get her to dance for you in the bathroom?" "In the bathroom yeah," he confirmed, prompting Amanda to add: "I love that, it's exotic."

Who is the boss in their marriage

Having recently interviewed Catherine on their show, the presenters also brought up the Kill Jackie actress' claim that she is "the boss" of their marriage. Agreeing with her assessment, the 82-year-old joked: "Happy wife, happy life."

The Basic Instinct star discusses his marriage, his life before meeting Catherine and his career in his new memoir, One Helluva Ride: The Explosive Memoir.

Michael on his relationship with Kathleen Turner

One of the talking points already making headlines is Michael's recollection of the secret relationship he had with his Romancing the Stone co-star Kathleen Turner. "The chemistry I had with Kathleen Turner was so strong, audiences have been certain for years that we were in a relationship together while making the film," he wrote.

Explaining that he and his then-wife, Diandra Douglas, had separated at the time, Michael claimed he "fell hard" for Kathleen, adding: "We found each other first as friends, then as co-stars, and finally as lovers."

In a statement to People magazine over the weekend, Kathleen responded: "Good heavens what a fuss about something 40 years ago! I love Michael and I look forward to enjoying the book." Speaking to the Heart Radio hosts, Michael said he had reached out to Kathleen to seek her permission before sharing the details in his book.

Reflecting on life before Catherine

Reflecting on the 25 years of life he had before meeting Catherine, he said she understood the concept of the book and the details he chose to share. During a recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Michael also recalled the stern ultimatum his wife gave him when they first started dating. "When I courted Catherine, she told me, 'If we are doing this, you need to clean your act up'."

Having recently divorced his first wife, Michael admitted to "seeing some other people at the time" while pursuing his relationship with Catherine. Not wanting to lose her, he recalled having "to call five women to break things off" before committing to the Chicago star, adding that he never looked back.
