Simon Cowell has said Mel B suffered from a sense of humour failure after she threw a glass of water over him during a live broadcast of America's Got Talent. The incident occurred after Cowell made a joke about her wedding night, referencing a performance by a male act.
Speaking to Extra's Terri Seymour, Cowell said: "I was trying to make light of something… I thought she'd have a sense of humour. She lost it." He added that he was the one who got soaked and should be angry, but insisted: "She's fine. I'm fine. Just one of those things."
Mel B, 42, launched herself at the music mogul, drenching him with water before storming off the set. The force of her lunge split her dress. She later explained her reaction, saying a previous act had made her cry because it reminded her of her late father, who died of cancer.
"He goes and says something stupid like that, so then I got angry. How do you know what my wedding night was like all those years ago?" she said. Mel B is currently divorcing husband Stephen Belafonte amid allegations of violence and abuse.
