Spice Girls fans were thrilled last week when Victoria Beckham, Mel C, Geri Halliwell-Horner and Emma Bunton gathered for an impromptu singalong. A video posted by Victoria’s son Cruz showed the group performing an acoustic version of their hit 'Viva Forever' around a dining table. However, Mel B was notably absent, sparking speculation about ongoing tensions within the band.
Sources have now claimed that it is 'impossible' to get Scary Spice and Geri in the same room. The friendship between Mel B and Geri has been strained since Mel B revealed on Piers Morgan's Life Stories in 2019 that the pair had slept together. Geri denied the claim, branding it 'hurtful', and Mel B later admitted it was a one-off 'fun thing'.
According to insiders, Geri remains 'so cross' about the public revelation and prefers to avoid Mel B unless necessary. The last time the duo were seen together was at Victoria Beckham's 50th birthday party in 2024. Mel B also skipped Emma Bunton's 50th birthday celebrations and did not attend the premiere of Victoria's Netflix documentary in October.
A source told the Mail Online: 'It’s literally impossible to get the pair of them in the same room. And when you do there is this fear that it will all kick off.' The strained relationship has dampened hopes for a full Spice Girls reunion, though Victoria has dropped hints that she might consider performing with the group again after opting out of the 2019 stadium tour.
