Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, is set to appear as a guest judge on the upcoming season premiere of MasterChef Australia. The cameo was filmed during her recent visit to Australia with Prince Harry, marking their first return to the country since their royal tour in 2018.
Producers of the show confirmed the appearance, stating: “As part of her first Australian visit since 2018, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, featured as a guest judge on the country’s most beloved cooking show.” They added that she mentored and guided home cooks alongside regular judges Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin, and Jean-Christophe Novelli.
This is not the first royal cameo on the programme; King Charles made a surprise appearance in 2018 during his tour with Camilla. For Markle, the role aligns with her previous work on Netflix’s With Love, Meghan, a lifestyle series that reached the Top 10 in 24 countries and became Netflix’s most-watched culinary show in early 2025.
The second season of With Love, Meghan, which debuted last year, continued to blend practical how-to guides with candid conversations. The show's synopsis describes it as “embracing playfulness over perfection” and highlighting how to create beauty in unexpected ways.
