Meghan Markle has shared a touching photograph of Prince Harry embracing their children, Archie and Lilibet, to mark Father's Day. The Duchess of Sussex, 44, posted the image on Instagram with the caption: “They’re so lucky to have you. We all are. Happy Father’s Day to our one and only.”
Photo Details
The photo shows Harry on his knees, hugging Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five. Lilibet wears white shorts and carries a giraffe teddy on her back, while Archie sports an England FIFA World Cup t-shirt. The image was shared by Meghan to celebrate the occasion.
Royal Family Also Celebrates
The Royal family also marked the day by sharing a photograph of Prince William with his daughter Princess Charlotte to celebrate his 44th birthday and Father’s Day. Taken in the gardens of Kensington Palace, the picture shows William in his Irish Guards uniform with his arm around Charlotte, who wears a white formal dress. The caption reads: “Happy birthday and Father’s Day to the best Papa in the World! We love you very much. C, G, C & L.”
Upcoming UK Visit
The Duke of Sussex is expected to bring his family to the UK for the first time in four years to attend the one-year countdown event for the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. His children have not seen their grandfather, King Charles III, in person since June 2022, during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been offered a royal residence to stay in during their trip, but it is understood they have not yet responded to the invitation. On previous visits, Prince Harry declined the offer to stay at Buckingham Palace over security concerns.
Reconciliation Hopes
Last year, Prince Harry spoke of his desire for a “reconciliation” with his family in an emotional interview with the BBC. However, major obstacles continue to block a full reunion, primarily around ongoing disputes over security, trust issues, and strained lines of communication.
