Jessica Mulroney, the former close friend of Meghan Markle, has broken her silence following the release of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Netflix documentary. The 42-year-old fashion stylist shared a black-and-white photo from Harry and Meghan's 2018 wedding on Instagram, without a caption and with comments disabled.
The image, which also features actress Abigail Spencer and other wedding guests, was the same snapshot shown in the documentary series. This marks Mulroney's first public acknowledgment of the programme since its release.
Mulroney and Meghan were once inseparable, with Meghan reportedly calling her on the night Prince Harry proposed. She was even tipped to become godmother to Archie Mountbatten-Windsor before the role went to former nanny Tiggy Pettifer. However, their friendship reportedly soured in 2020 after Mulroney was accused by lifestyle blogger Sasha Exeter of displaying 'very problematic behaviour' during discussions about white privilege and the Black Lives Matter protests.
In the documentary's second episode, footage of a video call between Meghan and Mulroney was featured, where Meghan excitedly said, 'Oh my God Jess, it's happening. He told me not to peek.' Following the documentary's release, Mulroney had avoided social media until now.
Before the series aired, Mulroney posted a cryptic message on Instagram: 'Best thing I ever did was learn how to move without the crowd.' She later issued a public apology regarding the Exeter incident, referencing her 'closest friend' Meghan and vowing to continue learning about race and privilege.
