Meghan Markle's show, With Love, Meghan, has been left out of Netflix's curated Emmy collection, despite receiving a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lifestyle Series earlier this month. The snub marks another blow to the Duchess of Sussex's Hollywood ambitions, as her relationship with the streaming giant appears to be deteriorating.
Emmy Nomination Overshadowed
Meghan celebrated the nomination on Instagram, writing: "A huge congratulations to the amazing crew, producers, and team who worked on 'With Love, Meghan' on @Netflix." However, Netflix's decision to exclude the show from its Emmy roster has raised questions about the future of their partnership.
This follows the end of Meghan's previous high-profile deal with Spotify. In 2023, the couple's podcast Archetypes was cancelled after one season, with reports citing a "lack of productivity" as the reason for ending the overall partnership, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Fading Streaming Deals
In 2020, the Sussexes signed a deal with Netflix reportedly worth £75 million, producing series such as Harry & Meghan (2022), Live to Lead (2022), Polo (2024), and With Love, Meghan (2025). But as of March, Netflix ended its partnership with Meghan's lifestyle brand, As Ever, and With Love, Meghan was not renewed for a third season. Netflix stated: "As it was always intended, Meghan will continue growing the brand and take it into its next chapter independently."
With both major streaming deals now concluded, the Sussexes' prospects in television and film appear to be shrinking, leaving their once vast opportunities reduced to a fraction of what they were.
