Meghan Markle has revealed that Prince Harry's favourite home-cooked meal is a classic British comfort food: meat, potatoes and cream sauce. The Duchess of Sussex shared the detail while serving as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia, which aired on Sunday, July 26.
What Meghan Said About Harry's Eating Habits
Asked by the show's judges what she likes to cook at home, Meghan explained she has 'a lot of palettes to appease'. She said her husband, the younger son of King Charles, favours the traditional combination, while she prefers grilled meats, fish and citrus. The couple now lives in California with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
Children's Eating Habits and a Phone Call
Meghan described her children as 'great eaters' who help prepare meals and, unlike many young children, enjoy Brussels sprouts. During the episode, Prince Harry phoned in briefly. Meghan told him, 'I wish you could try these, these dishes are fantastic,' and called him 'my love'. Harry replied, 'Very sorry to disturb you,' prompting Meghan to call him a 'charmer'.
The episode was filmed during Meghan and Harry's trip to Australia in April. The couple, who stepped back as senior working royals in 2020, were there in a private capacity promoting various endeavours.
Meghan's Culinary Brand
Meghan, formerly an actress on Suits, has made cooking part of her brand with her As Ever line of food products and two series of the lifestyle show With Love, Meghan on Netflix. The show featured her entertaining guests and offering cooking tips. Netflix confirmed it would not be renewed for a third season but would continue as seasonal specials.
