Meghan Markle was mocked by fans following the promotion of her new lavender honey for her lifestyle brand, As Ever. The Duchess of Sussex announced the release on Monday evening via Instagram, alongside a new batch of orange blossom honey.
New Product Launch Draws Criticism
As Ever currently offers three honey varieties: wildflower, orange blossom, and sage. The latest addition, lavender honey sourced from Spain, is described by the brand as offering “a delicate warmth that lingers beautifully.” The Instagram post featured three images, including one of the lavender jar on a silver tray and another with a spoonful of honey and lavender.
Social media users quickly criticized the presentation. One user on X commented: “Meghan Markle’s latest bland, dead-boring and factory-processed offering - this time displayed on what looks like a stainless steel surgical tray.” Another added: “It's very amateur. You think that she would have professional help especially if what is reported about her selling site having too much stock on hand.”
Negative Reactions Mount
Further criticism targeted the aesthetics and health implications. One user opined: “Do these people not have any imagination? The lavender looks like a sad weed.” Another wrote: “More disgusting teeth rotting sugar products.” A fourth commenter stated: “Huh, Meghan Markle selling her honey on metal tray? I was taught to use ceramic, wooden tray with liner in case honey, etc., spilled. Those herbs don't go with honey. Where the scones, muffins, toast? She doesn't know how to serve anything.” A fifth simply said: “Eww..boring and no thank you.”
Duchess Prepares for UK Return
The announcement comes as Meghan prepares to visit the UK for the first time in four years. She was last pictured in the country in September 2022, attending the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. The trip marks her first engagement in Britain since stepping back from royal duties.
