Meghan Markle could be set for a return to the silver screen as the value in her royal experiences diminishes, a royal author has claimed. Appearing on the Daily Expresso, Norman Baker, author of And What Do You Do?, claimed that the former Suits actress’s experiences in the Royal Family are losing their value due to time and lack of unshared stories.
Former MP Predicts Acting Comeback
The former MP and member of the privy council believes that Meghan could return to acting in a bid to ensure a regular income stream for herself and husband Prince Harry. He said: "When you've only got one story to tell which is what happened when you're in the royal family over here then that story diminishes both because you've already told most of it and second because the passage of time means you know it's less relevant."
Baker added: "As we go on, they've got less of a product to sell. Now, Meghan, I think, is going to go back to or has gone back to acting to some extent or will go back to acting and that will give an income stream, but you know, Harry it looks to me to be kind of out on a limb."
Prince Harry's Post-Royal Life
Since stepping back as a working member of the Royal Family, Prince Harry has sought to find a new path after turning his back on the one laid out for him at birth. He has undertaken a number of roles, expanding his charity work and taking on speaking engagements and documentary projects. During this time, his relationship has become strained with his family, particularly his father and brother, despite his claims that he hopes to reconcile with the pair.
Speaking to the BBC in 2025, Harry said: "I would love reconciliation with my family. Life is precious. I don't know how much longer my father has. He won't speak to me because of this security stuff, but it would be nice to reconcile."
Baker Blames Harry for Strained Relations
Norman acknowledged the deteriorated relationship between the King’s second son and the remainder of the family, but laid the blame firmly at the prince’s door. He added: "He's cut off his relations with the British royal family here and to some extent with the nation because he's not here and Meghan's in her own element and he's not. I feel a bit sorry for him to be honest with you."
