Meghan Markle and Prince Harry celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary on Tuesday, with the Duchess of Sussex sharing glimpses of the gifts she received. The couple, who married on May 19, 2018, in Windsor, have been living in Montecito, California, since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.
Among the presents was a lemon elderflower cake, the same flavour as their original wedding cake. Prince Harry also gave Meghan a statue of two penguins, accompanied by a photograph of the couple dressed as penguins at their engagement party. In a video shared on Instagram, Meghan explained that penguins mate for life, adding sentimental value to the gift.
An unopened card was also visible beside the statue, presumably from Harry. Additionally, Meghan received a sweet letter from British Airways crew wishing the couple a happy anniversary, likely handed to her during her recent flight back from Switzerland.
Their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, also contributed handmade clay creations as gifts for their parents. The low-key celebration included time with family, as the couple marked eight years of marriage away from the public eye.
