Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's A-list circle may be shrinking, but a handful of loyal celebrities remain steadfast supporters. Reports have emerged that several high-profile friends, including Oprah Winfrey, the Beckhams, and George and Amal Clooney—all of whom attended the couple's 2018 wedding—have drifted away. Additionally, journalist Paula Froelich claimed that Harry left longtime friend Elton John frustrated after allegedly requesting financial assistance for the Invictus Games before the couple's High Court defeat against the Daily Mail's publisher, Associated Newspapers Ltd, last week. Sources told Froelich that Elton had "had enough of the wayward and hot-tempered Prince." Neither party has addressed the reports publicly.
Abigail Spencer: A Decade-Long Friendship
Meghan has maintained a close bond with actress Abigail Spencer since 2007. The two met at an audition for an NBC pilot and later co-starred on the legal drama Suits. "Our friendship really developed during that time, and deepened. She's an incredible person," Spencer said of Meghan in 2024. Spencer appeared in the Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan (2022) and joined Meghan in season one of her lifestyle show With Love, Meghan (2025). She also promoted Meghan's brand As Ever on Instagram and called the duchess "Champagne in human form" and a "sister in this life, and beyond" in a birthday tribute.
Kelly McKee Zajfen: A Two-Decade Bond
One of Meghan's closest friends is Kelly McKee Zajfen, a former model and co-founder of the non-profit Alliance of Moms. The duo have been best friends for over 20 years, regularly supporting each other at public events and on social media. In March, Meghan presented Kelly with the Francis M. Wheat Community Service Award. Kelly appeared in an episode of With Love, Meghan in 2025 and wrote: "Meghan, you are pure magic and so full of love in everything you do—hosting, nurturing, creating joy. It all pours out of you so effortlessly, so beautifully, and not just on the show but every single day."
Nacho Figueras: A Polo Friendship
Prince Harry has been friends with Argentine polo player Nacho Figueras since 2007. The two enjoyed a ski trip to Aspen, Colorado in December 2025. While they keep their friendship low-key, Figueras has spoken about Harry publicly. In 2024, he told People: "Prince Harry is doing very well, and I admire how he has fully embraced fatherhood over the past couple of years. He loves parenthood. I admire him so much as a parent. He has a great and supportive wife in Meghan Markle."
Elton John and David Furnish: A Complicated Support
Despite reports of tension, Elton John and his husband David Furnish have been a major source of support for Harry. Elton, a close confidant of Harry's late mother Princess Diana, performed at the couple's 2018 wedding reception and has invited them to stay at his residences during times of need. Elton also stood alongside Harry in his lawsuit against Associated Newspapers Ltd, though their recent defeat was a setback. However, the reported friction over financial requests for the Invictus Games may have strained the friendship.
