Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have suffered another embarrassing blow after broadcaster Kevin O'Sullivan told them to "get a job" live on TV. The criticism came after the royal couple were spotted enjoying lunch in a Cotswolds pub over the weekend.
Broadcaster's outburst on live TV
On Monday night (October 5), the 70-year-old broadcaster slammed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during a live broadcast. The couple returned to the UK in August, with the dad-of-two making only one or two rare public appearances since then. However, they have been spotted out and about, enjoying the luxury of their new country, sparking backlash among residents.
O'Sullivan fumed: "Harry and Meghan, what are they doing now? 'Oh look, we're eating fish and chips in a pub. It's called the Falkland Arms, how about that?'"
He added: "Get a life, get a job, do something pointful, something meaningful. It's absolutely meaningless, your life, you two. Honestly."
Social media reaction
Viewers quickly took to social media to share their thoughts on the couple's latest move. One user wrote: "Great way to increase their popularity, lazy mid-week pub lunches while the rest of us are at work!!!"
Another agreed: "The pair seem to be eating at different pubs with abandon." A third echoed: "Harry and Meghan setting up a paparazzi photo at a Cotswold pub. I don't think the locals will want that happening; there are people that live there, just as well known and who are a lot richer than Harry, and they don't feel the need to be tacky and get staged photos."
A fourth added: "Harry and Meghan made sure they were photographed going into a pub. Can't be seen out in public without getting that shot, can they?"
