Megan Pickford has shared the surprise wedding anniversary gift her husband, England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, arranged for her while he is away training for the Three Lions' second World Cup tie. The couple celebrated four years of marriage, and despite Jordan being with the England squad, he ensured Megan felt special.
Anniversary Surprise Across the States
Megan travelled to Boston ahead of England's match against Ghana on Tuesday, but her holiday got off to a rocky start when her luggage went missing. Despite the setback, Jordan surprised her with rose petals leading to the bedroom, a large bouquet of roses, and a heartfelt message. Posting a clip on TikTok, she captioned it: "Husband still making our anniversary special across the states."
England's 4-2 win against Croatia on Wednesday gave the nation hope, and Megan has been in the stands cheering. Sources say she has drawn inspiration from fellow WAGs Victoria Beckham, Coleen Rooney, and Alex Gerrard. A source told the Daily Mail: "Some joke, in a kind way, that she's a bit of a throwback to the old times but it's just so refreshing. She loves it all – the outfits, the glamour and the prestigious role and column inches being a WAG brings. She is so proud of Jordan and so the least she can do is look the part to cheer him on."
Megan's Style and Suitcase Drama
While watching England play Croatia in Dallas, Megan donned a cowboy hat with the number one – the same as Jordan's goalkeeper shirt – paired with a white vest top and designer jeans. She accessorised with Gucci sunglasses and a necklace spelling out her daughter's name. However, her trip was marred by luggage issues. She updated fans: "Just flew next destination Jordan's brother stayed in Dallas to collect my suitcase that was arriving this afternoon. He had a flight booked later this evening. I brought his suitcase with me on my flight. When he went to collect my case they said they have to hold it in customs for 24 hours. He's now waiting in Dallas for my suitcase to clear and the next flight is Saturday. And I now have his suitcase so he can't brush his teeth."
She joked: "For the invested huns." One fan replied: "You couldn't make it up, but on the flip side I can't wait to see your next outfit. PS make sure you buy spare toothbrushes and pack them in hand luggage." Megan responded: "I'm waiting for Ant and Dec to jump out and tell me it's a prank."
Megan, who was in primary school during the 2006 World Cup, is now one of the longest-serving partners in the squad alongside Kate Kane, wife of captain Harry Kane. The source added: "This is her moment to shine, and she will."
