Maya Jama has given fans a glimpse into her romance with Manchester City defender Ruben Dias, sharing a series of intimate photographs from their holiday in Ibiza. The Love Island presenter posted a picture of herself snuggling up to the footballer, who leans his head towards hers in a tender moment. She captioned the post “la isla de la magia”, which translates to “the island of magic”.
Other images from the trip show Maya relaxing in a green bikini, cycling through the scenic surroundings, and admiring the island’s beauty. Fans were quick to respond, with one commenting “Winning at life” and many others replying with heart emojis, according to the Mirror.
The couple first went public with their relationship on Instagram earlier this year, and Maya previously shared romantic holiday photos in January. Speculation about their romance began around New Year’s Eve, following their encounter at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Manchester in November.
The new relationship comes after Maya’s second public split from rapper Stormzy. The pair originally dated from 2014, lasting five years before their initial break-up. Reflecting on that time, Maya said in an interview: “We were so young when we met, just beginning our careers. I was starting at MTV. He’d not even released a single at that point. We were just little babies.”
Stormzy had hinted at marriage in 2018, telling the Sunday Mirror: “I’m still so young but I want to propose, it’s going to happen and I will do it right. She is so sick, she is the best.” The couple later rekindled their relationship, but it ended for good in July 2024. In a joint statement, they said: “We tried and it didn’t work and that’s okay.”
