Matty Healy Misses Bandmate's Wedding Due to Fiancée's Film Commitments

The 1975 frontman Matty Healy was notably absent from the wedding of bandmate George Daniel and pop star Charli XCX, which took place on Saturday at Hackney Town Hall. While other band members Ross MacDonald and Adam Hann attended, Healy was in Los Angeles for the screening of 'I Know What You Did Last Summer', starring his fiancée Gabbriette Bechtel.

A source close to Healy told the Mirror: 'Matty flew directly from the stag celebrations in Ibiza yesterday, to be with his fiancée, Gabbriette last night in LA where she has contractual commitments for her debut movie.' Healy was spotted arriving at the screening in good spirits, dressed in a leather jacket over a white top with a red lightning bolt.

The wedding was a small affair with only 20 guests, including close friends and family. Charli wore a white mini-dress with a heart-shaped neckline, and the couple walked to the venue, eschewing a lavish celebrity event. The ceremony came just days after George's stag do in Ibiza, which Healy attended.

Fans took to social media to speculate on Healy's absence, with some suggesting he had to choose between supporting his fiancée and attending the wedding. Others noted that the couple might have a larger celebration planned for later, as one fan wrote: 'Apparently that was just the “official” wedding and they’re having more of a party wedding soon.'

The Mirror has contacted representatives for George Daniel and Matty Healy for further comment.
