Matt Lauer's Daughter Romy Issued Summons After Hamptons Hit-and-Run

Romy Lauer, daughter of disgraced former Today host Matt Lauer, has been issued with a summons for leaving the scene of an accident after allegedly crashing her car in the Hamptons over the July Fourth weekend.

The 20-year-old finance student was driving a Jeep Wrangler when it collided with a fence and a sign, according to reports. Rather than contacting police, she fled the scene. However, her licence plate fell off during the crash, enabling Southampton Town police to identify her.

A concerned neighbour called police at 4am on 5 July after hearing a loud noise and fearing someone had been hurt. Romy had earlier posted Instagram snaps of her evening at a sushi restaurant in Water Mill.

Romy is represented by top attorney Edward Burke, who also defended her father during his legal battles. Romy is the daughter of Matt Lauer and his ex-wife Annette Roque, and is currently studying at the University of Miami.
