Former TOWIE star Roman Hackett and his Love Island bombshell girlfriend Matilda Draper have split just months after moving in together, with an insider revealing they 'grew apart'. The couple, who began dating in December 2024, had a whirlwind romance that included getting matching tattoos, being baptised together, and moving into their first home within a year.
A source told The Sun: 'They just grew apart and whatever they did they couldn’t make it work. They’re both so sad about it and all their friends are too. They seemed perfect for each other but sometimes these things just don’t work out.'
Earlier this week, another insider said Matilda was 'devastated' about the break-up. 'They tried for a while to make things work but they aren’t together anymore,' they explained. 'Her friends are helping support her through this difficult time as she has taken it really hard.'
The pair's relationship moved quickly, with Roman 'basically moving in' to Matilda's flat. She told Closer at the time: 'He is there more or less every day. He has got part of the wardrobe – a tiny section that keeps getting bigger and bigger...he leaves his stuff there.' She added: 'It has moved so quick, but we are so pure with how much we love each other. We can’t help but be open, which I love.'
The couple were often seen double dating with Matilda’s Love Island bestie Jessica Spencer and her boyfriend Braydon Hackett, who is Roman’s cousin.
