Mary Berry's Emotional Tribute: Late Son William 'Still Part of Our Lives'
Mary Berry: Late Son William Still Part of Our Lives

Dame Mary Berry has shared poignant reflections on the enduring memory of her late son, William, who tragically died in a car crash at the age of 19 in 1989. Speaking on Fearne Cotton’s Happy Place podcast, Berry revealed that “keeping busy” was instrumental in helping her navigate her grief. She emphasised that William remains an integral part of their family life, with his memory kept alive through conversations and pictures, even for grandchildren who never met him. Berry highlighted the family's feeling of being “so lucky” to have had William and the “wonderful life” he brought them.

Her comments follow a heartfelt tribute to William at the Bafta Television Awards, where she received a prestigious fellowship prize and dedicated it to her family, including William.
