Martin Compston, the star of Line of Duty, has been spotted celebrating among Scotland fans in Boston ahead of tonight's World Cup opener against Haiti. The 42-year-old actor shared snaps on Instagram of a wild night out with fellow Scottish stars, including Tony Curran and Richard Gadd.
Celebrations in Boston Fan Zones
Compston posted a photo of Tony Curran, known for Outlander: Blood of my Blood, standing in a fan zone wearing a red kilt and Scotland top with 'Tartan Army' on the back. He captioned it: "@tonycurran in all his ginger heeded glory, fell aff the table 2 seconds later." The photo had a Braveheart soundtrack.
Another snap showed Compston with Baby Reindeer star Richard Gadd and screenwriter Neil Forsyth, all in Scotland strips and kilts, with the Proclaimers tune 'Letter to America' as backing. Compston also met broadcaster Gordon Smart during the festivities.
Scottish Night in Boston Gala
The BBC star attended a Scottish Night in Boston Dinner and Gala Event at the Royale, welcomed by a piper. Gerard Butler, dressed in a kilt and football shirt, gave a thumbs up as he arrived. The event supported Street Soccer Scotland.
Other attendees included former footballers James McFadden and Darren Fletcher, SFA president Mike Mulraney, SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster, and ex-rugby player Gregor Townsend.
Gordon Ramsay's Support
Chef Gordon Ramsay was spotted at Scotland's final training session. He offered free wings to kilted Scots at his Gordon Ramsay Burger restaurant in Boston with a burger purchase. He received a personalized Scotland top from captain Andy Robertson.
Scotland faces Haiti at Boston Stadium tonight at 9pm, broadcast live by BBC at 2AM BST, marking the team's first World Cup appearance in 28 years.
