Mark Wright has joked that his wife Michelle Keegan won't watch his latest project with Olly Murs, branding it so 'bad' that she pretends to have nothing to do with him. The former TOWIE star, 38, is currently presenting a Saturday morning slot on Heart FM alongside former X Factor contestant Olly Murs, 41.
As part of their work with the station, the pair have been going head-to-head in a series of light-hearted challenges on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, including attempting to get selfies with cartoon characters and tackling the Formula Rossa rollercoaster. However, they found themselves slightly red-faced as they sampled Yas Waterworld.
When asked during an appearance on Heart Breakfast which challenge was toughest, Mark replied: 'It was probably the rapids because we had flippers on which didn't really fit us and this dinghy where ducks and items were flying past and you couldn't catch them because they were faster than us.'
Presenter Amanda Holden pressed Mark about his wife's reaction to the programme, asking: 'Has Michelle come down and laughed at you at any of these challenges?' The former reality star responded: 'It’s that bad she doesn’t even come down, she just lets us get on with it. She’s seen the video and she’s said by the pool with a pina colada and Palma.'
Amanda joked: 'It's so bad that she has nothing to do with you.' Mark went on to thank his 'family who supported him', prompting Amanda to interject: 'You just said she doesn’t watch.' Mark clarified he was thanking his mother Carol, not Michelle.
In a separate podcast episode, Mark’s mother Carol opened up about her relationship with Michelle, admitting she 'holds back' to avoid being an overbearing mother-in-law. She said: 'I always think that when the girl comes into our family it's quite… they feel a bit overpowering to so many of us, so I seem to be like… I hold back a bit.'
