Margot Robbie's Mushroom Blonde Hair: The Perfect Autumn Shade

Margot Robbie has debuted a new hair colour, swapping her bright Barbie blonde for a cooler-toned, lived-in 'mushroom' shade that is perfect for autumn. The actress showcased the look while promoting her upcoming film A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, which also stars Colin Farrell.

Celebrity colourist Siobhan Haug, co-founder of Haug London Haus, explained that Robbie's new style features a rooty effect with tones of taupe and beige, with brighter pieces around the front to shape and flatter the face. The look can be achieved by either leaving natural colour at the roots and blending highlights into it, or by taking highlights all the way to the roots and using two different toners to create the rooty appearance.

For those wanting to copy the star, Haug recommends asking for a grown-out, rooty look at the crown, with the hair around the front kept brighter, using neutral toner shades such as taupe and beige. Bringing a photo to your appointment can help your colourist understand the desired result.
