David Beckham Shows Support for Marc Anthony After Brooklyn Wedding Drama

David Beckham has publicly supported singer Marc Anthony after being mentioned in an explosive statement from Brooklyn Beckham regarding his 2022 wedding. The former England captain commented on Marc's Instagram announcement that he and his wife Nadia Ferreira are expecting their second child together, writing: 'Soooooo excited' with a red heart emoji.

Marc, 57, is godfather to David and Victoria Beckham's children Cruz and Harper, while David is godfather to Marc's son Marquitos. Their friendship spans many years, reportedly stemming from their shared love of Marc's music.

The support comes after Brooklyn, 26, posted a now-deleted Instagram story in which he alleged that his mother Victoria 'hijacked' his first dance with his wife Nicola Peltz during their 2022 Palm Beach, Florida wedding. Brooklyn claimed that Marc Anthony called him to the stage for what was supposed to be a romantic dance with Nicola, but instead his mother was waiting to dance with him 'very inappropriately'.

Brooklyn said he felt 'uncomfortable and humiliated' by the incident. Marc's involvement in the wedding sparked speculation about his relationship with the Beckham family, but David's recent gesture appears to quash any rumours of bad blood.

Marc and Nadia, 26, announced their pregnancy with a photo showing Nadia's baby bump, with Marc's hand on her stomach and their son Marquito touching her tummy. Marc captioned the post: 'Happy 3rd anniversary!! What a great gift life gives us. God is great Marquito is going to be a big brother.'
